The dangers of buying a home in Overland Park without the help from a licensed Real Estate agent.

While at the dog park enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve had this winter in Kansas City I talked to a woman who had a horror story about her attempt to purchase a home.

Married last spring, a baby on the way, and purchasing a home that she fell in love with was her version of achieving the American Dream. They made an offer, put a deposit and the seller accepted; what could possibly go wrong?

It went wrong when the seller decided not to sell and keep their deposit and it happened because the seller had talked them into foregoing the use of an escrow company and making the deposit directly to him. Now they have to take the seller to court in order to get their deposit back.

This horrible experience could have been avoided had a licensed Real Estate agent represented them.
